Counting boards are devices to count the passage of time, both up from a given point in time and down to determined date. Devices can count days, hours, minutes, seconds or even tenths and hundredths of a second. Control can be done using the application (automatic counting longer periods, eg. counting the number of days without incident or showing the time left to the event), or by remote control (for short periods, such as stopwatches or countdown clocks).
Displays can also count the number of manufactured items or free or occupied parking spaces as well as other values of the data received from external devices or applications.
